Hi all
This has been playing on my mind.  Here's a thought.  Why wouldn't you treat parental consent for DHM in the same way as parental consent for infant formula (and other pharmaceuticals)has been treated for decades.  Around here, that would look like this, "Your baby's doctor has prescribed Xmls of [DHM] ever X hours for X many days." In this case the parents might be given a printed information sheet explaining why this the doc has prescribed this intervention but would be rare for a patient to be offered a choice between two different medicines where one has a clearly superior side effect profile.  I wonder why DHM should be treated any differently - especially given Paula Meier's work with communicating the importance of MOM to a low SES population.
