Becky points out that Hale lists echinacea as L3 in his system. I
have noted that he lists every herbal remedy as an L3. It seems to
me this is a move from his previous statements that he was quite
concerned about all herbals. I have heard him make a valid point in
that there is no standardazation and the strength of any herbal
product can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and possibly even
from batch to batch. I personally am new to learning about
herbals. I think I have an open mind, but I have to agree with
Becky that those of us in some form of "public practice" (as opposed
to the independent private practice LC) have to tread cautiously
when it comes to recommending (or even suggesting) non-traditional
forms of medicine.
