Your idea of lactation assistants is interesting.  A few months ago our medical
director suggested the same thing for us in the hospital lactation center.  It
is a good idea, but we have not really looked into doing it.  Has anyone else?
A closely supervised breastfeeding educator could be a real help--telephone
screening, pump rentals and instruction, back to work appointments, etc.  The
wild and wooly cases would be handled by the IBCLC.
