Judy,

Thanks for the information on how 4-6 months for solids got started. I
know with my own children, the pediatrician advised some iron enriched
foods at 4 months, but I was going on a trip from NY to Cal. and he said
just give iron drops, so solids started around 5 months. My second
wouldn't take solids till 7-8 months, and my third, about 5-6 months. My
granddaughter started at about 5 1/2 months, mom (my daughter) was going
to wait until 6 months, but felt her daughter was ready then. I think the
LLL guidelines are still a good way to tell solid readiness, not a hard
and fast number, as someone else posted.

IMHO,

Greenwood Lake, NY
where it is cold but alas the snow had been melting too fast, (after I
just went and bought new x-country skiis after 18 years, bought the last
pair when I was pregnant with my now 17 yr ds)!
