I make it a routine to say to every new breastfeeding mom "If ANYONE
(doctor, pharmacist, mother in law - anyone) tells you that you can't
breastfeed or that you need to "pump and dump" for ANY reason, please
contact me first. Lots of times other doctors and even the pharmacies don't
have the most up  to date information that I have access to. I hate to see
moms stop breastfeeding when they don't need to do so."

Some moms have remembered this and called me up to a year later when they
were incorrectly advised to wean.
