In our facility, mag is not concidered a contraindication to immediatly
begin breastfeeding. Like most - we do see the kids demonstrating the
typical "mag drag" behaviour for the first 24 hours post delivery but they
still nurse. Have never had a Dr. here tell a mom she can't immediatly
breastfeed after delivery due to mag infusion- even if she remains on it
for 24-48 hours post delivery.
