I do this all the time. Women seem OK with it, at meetings and
privately, but men always kinda look away as I'm handling my own breast,
modeling hand expression or whatever. I've been doing this for long
enough that I'm not aware I'm doing it. I teach 8th grade and
breastfeeding comes up now and again and I always take advantage of it.
I have to think carefully when talking about breastfeeding, so I dont'
handle my own breast in front of 8th grade boys in a public school. I
have pointed to my own breasts and said something like "girls, this is
why we have breasts--to feed babies.."

Somehow explaining it is always easier when you are touching your own breast, regardless if there is anyone around to see it! You become so comfortable with it you sometimes forget others find it a strange concept! I wonder what the male pediatrician IBCLC's do to visualize and explain better...?
