I just talked with my Medela rep and got a fuller story. She
states that the pump is *not* being marketed specifically to the
hospitals, and that rental stations will be carrying them. Apparently
this pump is being positioned to be a one-baby pump, but a double pump
that mothers can buy, as that is a frequent request. My rep also felt
that hospitals probably won't be selling these much, and that insureace
will not pick up the high tab ($180 suggested retail; who knows what a
hospital would mark that up to!). So, I'm calmed down a little for now.
Thought those of you who were in the dark like me would appreciate this
update.
