I find the research linking "not breastfeeding" to higher risk of breast
cancer, and "not having been breastfed" to higher risk of breast cancer both
compelling and convincing.  You can go look at some of these studies on my

I have seen quite a few examples of people promoting healthy, anti-cancer
lifestyles include breastfeeding as one of the things you can do to lower
your risk.  So I think it is becoming more and more accepted that yes,
breastfeeding is good for the mother and good for her daughters.

And since there are no risks to breastfeeding (with the known exceptions),
then why not recommend something that a woman can control if there is even a
shadow of a chance of a possibility that it might reduce her breast cancer
risk and that of her daughters?

And I would say the research goes way beyond "a shadow of a chance of a
possibility" that breastfeeding is protective.
