Julie Conaway has emailed with praise for the information on this website,
SAYING "breastfeeding is completely the normal and expected means of infant
feeding on this site". She then gave a link to a page of parenting
resources.

I work for an organisation which holds as fundemental that parents are
entitled to receive information which is not from anyone who has a
commercial interest in the outcomes of their feeding decisions. That is,
all feeding decisions should be informed free of commercial bias, of
whatever sort. So, in our view, pump (and other) companies should not be
providing information on infant feeding. I have always understood this to
be one of the principles underpinning the WHO/UNICEF Code.

Of course, I understand that there were a number of different people /
groups involved in the development of the Code and I may be wrong about this
last.

However, it is certainly what I have always wished for in this area. I know
that in the current world, particularly the current USA culture, this seems
an impossible dream. However, since I apparantly come into the old and
grumpy category (!!), I will continue to hold on to my out-of-fashion ideas.
