I have received a question re: a mother of twins. They are premature, and
feeding well at breast. They were born at 32 weeks, and are not like 36 -38
weeks..I am not sure. Mom is 44 years old, and is pumping, with a good
supply. SHe is breastfeeding, but is being told to supplement after feedings
with formula, because her physician feels that her milk, at age 44, is not
nutritionally complete or adequate.

Although I can find scattered information on the a supposed reduced supply
in the older mother, I can find no info on this idea. Is this what I think
it is, another sacrifice on the altar of ignorance?

Ack. Kathleen
