What would have been really great would have been if Dr. Pratt said to the
mother of a preemie as he wheeled in the pump, "Why don't you start pumping
for him? He will really need your milk since he is so premature and it will
help you feel more connected to him."
Ahhh a girl can dream.....
Andrea, I was imaging a similar scene, but in my version Pratt would of
course come on *way* too strong and/or too quick, the new and conflicted mom would
have another more severe meltdown, and the LC would be called in to praise
Pratt for his effort whilst role modeling a more gentle and compassionate
approach.
