We had a friend over last night who knows someone who will be staying
in the hospital and extra EIGHT days because her epidural was botched
and she is leaking fluid. Our friend was not in a position to give me a
lot of details, but it's not the first story I've heard about botched
epidurals with serious consequences. I can't being to imagine what
those 8 days, and the pain and treatment for the Mom will do to early
bonding and bfg.
Does anyone know of any research on "botched" epidurals. How often to
they occur? What are the most serious and the most common "botches" and
outcomes? Does it happen more in some places than others, for example
teaching hospitals where people are still learning to do these
procedures or whatever.

Thanks for any info you can offer.
