Here is a perspective on risk based approach that I have been thinking about, tell me what you all think.
   
  Even if the risk-based approach is well-done and clear to the class, it is still just a bunch of numbers.  I have been experimenting with equating LACK of breastfeeding with other risks that are familiarly looked at as unacceptable. I found this approach effective with healthcare providers and haven't tried it with regular expectant parents.
   
  The two I have come up with so far:
   
  1. Not breastfeeding is approximately same (slightly higher) IQ loss as lead poisoning.
  2. Not breastfeeding causes increased childhood cancer risk approximately the same as second-hand smoke exposure increases cancer risk.
