Re:  Cipro (ciprofloxacin) contraindications in breastfeeding.

The milk levels of Cipro are somewhat conflicting and are low to moderate
in range.  The older contraindication for using Cipro in pediatric patients
is beginning to wane as we finally realize that the arthropathy observed in
beagle dogs does not occur in human infants.  So I think the pediatric
indications may change soon.

Regardless,  one case of pseudomembranous colitis has been reported and all
infants exposed to this and other strong antibiotics must be closely
observed for bloody diarrheas.
