A recent mom got periods back with first baby at 5 weeks fully BF (really- no
retained placenta, no bottles or pacifiers, baby nursing well and frequently
- I checked all the usual stuff). Now nursing #2, 6 mos old (very allergic
to dairy & soy), has huge milk supply bordering on oversupply despite careful
management. Mother overweight with huge breasts; periods returned at 3 mos
and occurring every 29 days. Any ideas of hormonal stuff, possibly related
to her weight/fatness, that could be causing the early return of menses and
oversupply? She has literally gallons of milk stored for work.
