Greetings from the NSTA Committee on Informal Science!

For those of you attending the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA)
National Convention in Dallas, March 31-April 3, there are a number of
convention events sponsored by NSTA's Informal Committee that will be of
special interest to informal science educators. We invite you to these
events to share your innovative programs and ideas, meet and greet your
informal colleagues, and to have fun!

Hope to see you in Dallas!

Informal Division Reception

Thursday, March 31

8:00 PM

Room: A201-202, Dallas Convention Center

Sponsored by NSTA Informal Science Committee and the

Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge

Rounding out the evening's events is the Informal Division Reception-the
hottest ticket at the NSTA convention. Come meet and greet members of the
informal science community, and enjoy an abundance of food and drink and
fellowship.

A special highlight of the event will be the introduction of Bernie
Zubrowski as the recipient of the 2005 Faraday Science Communicator Award.
Bernie is with the Education Development Center in Newton, Mass, and is the
author of sixteen science education books. According to Dr. Richard Hudson,
PBS television producer and former Faraday Award recipient, "Bernie's work
in this field is monumental. He's known around the world as an outstanding
science communicator."

If you have questions about any of the informal events, please contact the
Director of NSTA Informal Science Committee, Steven L. Jacobs,
Chief Scientist, Faraday Studios / Discovery Channel ([log in to unmask]);
or myself (contact info below).

I'd also like to invite you to attend a desert reception sponsored by the
National Science Digital Library (NSDL) to learn more about how NSDL can
support science centers in discovering free multimedia learning resources,
providing ask-an-expert services for visitors, and as a dissemination
vehicle for your own online content.

NSDL Reception

Friday, April 1 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Adams Mark Hotel, San Antonio Ballroom B
