Cool! Awesome work, guys.
Is that taking place in the big purple-glass curvy-walled building on
your campus?
Three comments:
1. The Center for Visual Music has recently released a DVD of the
work of Elias Romero, who is considered the grandpappy of the light
show. I notice you're using some of his tricks: the colored oil and
overhead projector. Of course, to our contemporary candy-gorged
eyes, Romero's stuff seems almost quaint and old-fashioned (and just
barely "trippy"), but the DVD's charm is in an extended interview/
visit with Mr. Romero, in which he semi-coherently reveals his
techniques.

2. I think you guys would have enjoyed an installation myself and
two other artists did last year at the San Antonio Museum of Art,
very similar to your color shadows area, there. We projected an
image of trees blowing in the wind, divided into seperate R, G, and B
channels on three seperate projectors onto giant screens in the
middle of the gallery. It was a nice twist on the concept,
especially with the screens being semi-transparent and the projectors
being in different corners of the room. I composed the soundtrack,
which was more soundscape than music (in the traditional sense--Eno-
esque, perhaps), and divided across four channels, each of a slightly
different length, so that it shifted depending on when and where you
stood in the gallery. Not nearly as annoising as a "He's Got the
Whole World in His Hands" looping ad nauseum.

3. Another twist on a concept: I designed the "Shadow Guppy"
exhibit at the AA Hands-On that demonstrates the geometry of shadows
by providing a shadow theater/aquarium full of identical "guppy
puppets." Of course, if you move a guppy closer to the light source,
its shadow gets bigger, and it can appear to "eat" smaller fish
(those further away from the light source). It's pretty funny.
