We use a $100.00 product called G-Lock http://www.glocksoft.com/ep/ It can facilitate both plain text or HTML content. We send out about 3000 emails monthly using it and are pleased with its ease of use and reliability.

We have tried a dozen or so applications as well as online solutions and have found this the best solution in our case.

We write the newsletter on our website in HTML and send the page by email. This reduces the size of the newsletter as the images remain on the internet. However, the reader must be online to see the images. This also allows us to have archived copies on our website for future reference.

I don't recommend sending PDF's in bulk email as they can be large and can slow down the mail server. It really depends on how many emails you're sending out and whose server it is going through.

Good luck,

Hello all,

We are thinking about migrating our calendar mailing to an email
format. Right now it gets mailed out every two months and costs a
fortune. Does anybody out there have any experience with this? What
kinds of issues do you have to look out for? Do people resist?
We've been told that PDFs are nice but some ISPs don't accept them.
HTML is nice because you can have images and text, but virusestend to
attach to them, and some folks just plain dislike the format. Links
off our website are ok because the info is already there, but...
Suggestions?

Thanks,
Beryl
