The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation announces the opening of two Historic Preservation Specialist positions in the Office of Federal Agency Programs, Federal Property Management Section.  

The primary duty of the incumbents will be to conduct reviews of Federal projects under Section 106 of NHPA and the ACHP's implementing regulations, "Protection of Historic Properties" (36 CFR Part 800). The incumbents analyze supporting project documentation to identify information needed to facilitate the ACHP's review and negotiate with Federal, State, tribal, and local officials, as well as representatives of special interest groups to reach binding agreements addressing effects on historic properties. The incumbents will monitor agency implementation of agreed upon outcomes, negotiate changes where necessary, and conduct post-agreement reviews.
