The Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory seeks qualified applicants for the position of Collections Technician. The Collections Technician will assist with the collating, organizing, archival preservation, and electronic scanning of paper and film records from the State's most important archaeological collections.  Responsibilities include checking records in hard and electronic copy, archival packaging, scanning and editing of scanned files, and database entry.  Some knowledge of the nature of paper and film records, electronic scanning, and some experience with archaeology and computer programs a must.  The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills.  BA in history, anthropology, archival management, or related field required, or applicant may substitute an AA and two years experience.  Position will last approximately seven months.  Full-time contractual position, no State-paid benefits, $13.49/hour.
