The only thing about David Schiff's list that I found odd was his inclusion
of the tunesmiths(Gershwin, Kern, etc.).  I find those composers and their
music without any appeal to me.  If non-classical composers are eligible,
I would include Bob Dylan and Richard Thompson.

In the classical area, I'd add Giacinto Scelsi.  I think we will be hearing
much more of him in the 21st century.
