I come in late on this one so sorry if I repeat anything.

'Spem' is a superb masterpiece that does not get enough recognition.
Neither does music of this era get enough of an airing in this group,
as I am beginning to say more often.

Avoid the recording on Carlton Classics of 'Spem' it's very poor I'm afraid
many because of the sound.  Venue is of course vital for such a piece.

I always regarded the Tallis Scholars as the definitive recording.
Am I wrong?
