The quality of Barenboim's BPO version in terms of sound is magnificent.
All departments of the orchestra are transparently mellifluous, including
tutti sections.  However, the last movement for me sounds too fast.

It's interesting that Sviatoslav Richter had never heard the symphony
until July 6th, 1988 (see the biography by Monsaingeon).
