I have no idea what Ponti is up to these days, but I've had dozens of
hours of enjoyments with his seven discs of Scriabin's piano music on
that Vox released about 9 months ago. Instead of the anonymous and
syrupy interpretations that most current pianists give of Scriabin's
music, Ponti delivers unconventional readings loaded with rhythmic verve.

I've been intending to review the seven discs, but it's unfortunately
always easier and quicker to review single recordings. Actually, I find
that the hardest discs to review are those that are neither exceptional
nor unacceptable.
