Among a large list of releases issued this time of the year are:

Rubbra Piano Trios from the Endymion Ensemble on Dutton Laboratories. I
acquired and very much like Rubbra's symphonies courtesy of Chandos. Are
there any other fine Rubbra recordings on the market?

Natalie Dessay sings and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment provides
the support in a disc titled "Mozart Heroines" from Virgin. Dessay already
recorded a single disc of Mozart arias which I enjoyed.

Ian Bostridge sings Bach Cantatas and Arias with Fabio Biondi directing
Europa Galante on Virgin. This should be very interesting in terms of how
Biondi interprets Bach vocal works.

Lucy van Dael and Bob van Asperen do the honors for Naxos with Bach's
Sonatas for Violin & Harpsichord. Not to be left behind, Rachel Podger and
Trevor Pinnock perform the same works for Channel Classics. Once I have
both recordings, I'll review a bunch of period instrument sets; I believe
I have most of them. Given my preferences, review of any modern violin
recordings would not be beneficial.
