Quoting from the liner notes by Robert Pascall:

   In this recording, "Vienna" horns in F are used (as opposed to the
   "safer" modern horns in B-flat and F), as well as rotary-valve
   trumpets, and narrow-bore trombones.

(OK, not valveless maybe, but HIP nonetheless, as I interpret it.)
