In reply to Mr Behr, a woman friend from my youth once presented me with a honey bee dish which she said was a favorite on Mindinao (Phillipines) it was prepared with milk and sweet.  The bees were much larger than ours.  I am sure that if there are still people on the list who served in the Phillipines during WW2 they could give you more details.
