Agreed. Champagne corks fit very neatly into the plastic plug that covers the entrance to the Imrie shim. I rely only on the notch in the inner cover to provide ventilation and egress. The corks provide a thermal barrier to the thin sheet of plastic that's used to make the plug. That entrance is about the size of a quarter, way too large for northern climates or locations with field mice populations.
