mites in many areas are quite resistant!

True and I am not a fan of checkmite. The key with varroa is to keep knocking the mites back.
Rotating treatments and using a control when levels rise seems what is working.

Four treatments a year is not unusual now.

I remember the list decided splitting did not reduce varroa levels but I am not convinced.

Take half the hive away and treat seems to be working for many.
