I don't think it's realistic because staples that feed the
masses like rice, wheat, corn, soybeans, etc. do not 
require insect pollination.

Honeybees mainly pollinate semi-luxury crops that wealthy
developed countries consume like fruits and nuts.

And some of these fruit and nut crops are partially 
wind pollinated.
