Doesn't change the indisputable fact that honeybees
can routinely be seen visiting ornamental flowers, 
fruit trees, roadside dandelions, frosted donut dumpsters, 
etc. in the smoggiest areas of Los Angeles.  

Also, other social insects such as drywood termites
and argentine ants are so abundant in Los Angeles they
are considered major pests that support a thriving
urban pest control industry.
