I suggest that you read the two studies, as the authors elaborate.  I
suspect that it is because it places empty drawn comb immediately above or
adjacent to the brood, which then results in it being warmed and thus more
suitable for the nurses to prepare, and for the queen to lay in, compared
to unheated drawn comb elsewhere in the hive.
