Hi Charles and All

OMAFRA in Ontario recommends pulling supers and treating in August.   
Some years, 2015 was an extreme example, the goldenrod flow is very  
intense.  With no supers in September, they plug the brood box and  
away they go.  I agree with your lady friend.
