Annual Meeting, MT Beekeepers
 
When:  October 15, 2009
Where:  Holiday Inn Parkside, downtown Missoula, MT
Agenda:  Main meeting Thursday afternoon, all day Friday, Friday  evening 
banquet, Sioux bee breakfast Saturday morning, open house/tours of Bee  Alert 
Technology, Inc. and the neighboring BVS, Inc. (Biological Virus  
Screening) Saturday morning.
 
Speakers include researchers Steve Shepherd, WSU; Dave Wick, BVS,  
introduction of new faculty from MT State Univ in Bozeman - Robert Cramer who is  
working on Nosema ceranae, Kevin Wanner, a new extension specialist and bee  
genetics, and myself and my crew from Bee Alert and the Univ. of MT.  The  
association president if finalizing the agenda, with lots of other speakers in 
 addition to researchers.
 
Special guests included three visitors from the largest beekeeping  
operation in Uruguay, who will be in MT visiting large commercial beekeeping  
operations and who will attend the Missoula meeting.  Fernando runs more  than 
10,000 colonies; I spent some time with him in Uruguay.
 
Missoula has airline service by Delta/Northwest, United, Alaska, Sky  West. 
 Third largest town in MT, situated in the mountains - 1/2 day from  
Yellowstone Park, a couple of hours from Glacier.
 
MT Beekeeping Association President is Nicole Ulibarri of Morris Honey  
Company in Hamilton, MT.

Would be delighted to see some members of Bee-L come up to attend the  
meeting, see us.  We're in fall weather, frosty nights, usually sunny  
afternoons.
