I went to a meeting last night at which the speaker Stuart Roweth described his invention - the Bee Gym, a device which enables bees to scrape their backs and bellies to rid themselves of mites. If you google Bee Gym, you'll be able to see a film of it in use, apparently quite popular with the bees.

I wrote about the talk on Chrissladesbeeblog last night and soon afterwards received an message from a lady in the next village to me, saying that she has a Bee Gym in one of her hives and the mite numbers in that hive are much lower than in her other hives.
