Re: built-in observation hive

Friends of mine built a six by two frame observation hive in an existing
exterior door, with the door still mounted on the inside and foam
insulation on the outside, everything disassembleable. To my surprise the
bees used all twelve frames and made it through the winter. No plans
available...

A fake concrete block chimney hive would provide no means of brood
inspection.
