How much of the variation is in the sampling? Way back in the 80's when I
was with the Dept of Primary Industries, one of the things I was hoping to
look at was the sampling error for nosema within the hive. Several times I
had taken samples and out of curiosity I took a second sample. Back at the
lab, one would be negative and the other would often be in the millions of
spores. It was one thing I would have liked to take further but I left
before I was able to do the experiment.

Has anyone else looked at this sampling error?
