The weather here about 1/2 way between Montgomery and Mobile is ARID.  We've had about 0.2" of rain in the last six weeks where I live.  There has been more rain twenty miles to the north and maybe a little less than twenty miles to the south, but the band where I live has received very little rain.  Was supposed to move bees to pollinate watermelons.  The farmer says the watermelons he has planted are just sitting there, surviving, not growing.  And, he doesn't plan to plant any more until we get a good soaking rain.
