Actually, a prominent beekeeper here in Maine has seen absolutely no effect
to his bees that reside directly by seed treated fields. Nor have there
been any reports of problems that were caused by neonics. There have been
some who blamed them, but in every case the problem was with the observer.

The fact is that the farmer is not addle brained but conscientious by using
the neonics instead of any of the prior pesticides which were harmful to
humans and animals as well as bees. We seem to forget that there were
pesticide kills before the neonics. We also forget how harmful they were to
any who came in contact with them as well as their lasting effect on the
environment.
