Well, you probably could destroy the spore by heat *but* you need to
sustain more than 150C at the endospores surface to break up the coat.
As this exceeds the boiling point of water somewhat its not a very
practical proposition. That is why we scorch with a flame or, if you had
the facilities, 'boil' something else with a very much higher boiling
point and hope your equipment survived.
