I imagine that some of the Australians, where radioactive cobalt
disinfection is widely used, will have a different opinion.

However, I'm in agreement with you about the fact that pathogens are
ubiquitous in the bee environment.

I personally sterilize woodenware if AFB was present, but as for other
deadouts, I simply restock after a drying period.  I wish to have my bees
keep me, rather than playing nanny to them, so I go for breeding for those
bees that perform best with minimal help.
