Many folks have done this. Make a split from a hive but either forgot about
it or something prevented you from getting back to it. I did that this past
year. So I opened up those two hives expecting to find bees robbing it out. But I
found it still working in the frames given it last spring and the queen still
working. I have since then given them more frames to hopefully draw out.
Anyone else doing this good. Or are we still reporting crashing hives.
