I bought a bottle of Bee Go or Bee Gone several years ago in the hope of herding an established colony out of a tree.  [The results were so-so (not too effective in that application).]

The smell is rather awful - I keep the bottle sealed in double plastic
bags to cut down on the smell in the garage.  No homeowner would be
pleased if I sprayed it in their house.  A lot of older American homes
are not very tight and the smell would go through the structure...  I
might even get sued for deliberate damage!
