Walter - thanks for the suggestion to add frames of brood and bees from other colonies to my small August swarm.  It has worked well so far.  I didn't cage the queen though.  I did place the frame with her in position 3 of 10 in a single deep and added three frames of brood and bees, sprayed with sugar syrup in positions 6-8 of ten.  I'll go back in a few days and check on her.  She is a little dark but hopefully she will make it until next March and I'll replace her.
