A worldwide survey of genome sequence variation provides insight into the
evolutionary history of the honeybee Apis mellifera 

This may be a really dumb question,  but how (roughly not detailed) is a
genome evauluated on a living bee?  Dr Robinson mentioned this summer that
they see changes in genomes in minutes..  how do they see that??
