Bull!....the old way is to recycle the wax by melting which
does indeed stop the reinfestation by AFB. It's just that
many don't want to take the time to do it right, nor have
the proper equipment to do so, nor the patience for the
time it takes. But Bob, it is quite effective, and to me
results are results......

For the spores of AFB can be destroyed in time by high heat
and/or boiling and the process has been known for decades,
like pre-WW2, and yes by us old beekeeping families. It is
not hard, just time consuming. Since few had the equipment
to process the way has been to burn, when this is not
needed if adequate plants were available to properly
process the beeswax. There are a few, but very few.
