Getting it clipped at any age should help some. The problem may be
though that baby has already established nursing habits and may
continue the same after the clipping. A co-leader of mine in LLL
several years ago had her son's clipped at around 6 weeks to 3
months (don't recall the age for sure). Sometimes he would nurse
without it hurting while at other times, he reverted to nursing just
like he did before the clipping. She might need to also do some
"tongue exercises" to retrain his suckling pattern.
