Dear Netters,
Need your collective wisdom here. One of the IBCLCs at our hospital asked me
this question this morning, and I don't have a clue. A woman makes stained
glass windows, and she has to solder the lead Her docs told her she had to
stop immediately for the duration of pregnancy. The baby is around 4 months
old, and she hasn't done any soldering -- yet -- but is getting the itch to
get back into it. The question is, can fumes from soldering lead cause any
problems, or increase lead content of the milk? I asked if she had ever had
any lead levels done on her, and was told no, she hadn't.
I don't know if fumes can cause a problem either during pregnancy or
breastfeeding.. Seems to me that they would cause a problem in her first,
but maybe an undetectable one???
Any "evidence-based" research out there? In lieu of EBR, anyone have any
good hunches?

yep -- CABBAGE!!)
