I am the one who began the thread on <shear/compression/suction and
mathematical calculations> several months ago. I have been interested in
these aspects of "latch" for a long time. I thank you profusely for
recognizing and posting this reference as related to the questions I
proposed. It will be interesting to see if he is using the rubber teat as
a basis for his observations, as, in 1971, I doubt there was much insight
into the fact that there is a difference in the mechanics of the mouth
feeding correctly at breast compared feeding on a bottle.
Once again, thank you for being so observant. I am excited about getting
to the medical library to begin looking it up.
